Traffic Management Plan
The Traffic Management Plan around One New Zealand Stadium is implemented on a tiered system based on the expected attendance to the event.
The Traffic Management Plan (TMP) around One New Zealand Stadium is designed in conjunction with Christchurch City Council, Venues Ōtautahi and the Police.
The primary purpose of the TMP is to ensure safety for all people moving around the stadium. It takes into account the movements of vehicles and pedestrians while also considering risks like hostile vehicles.
The tiered TMP system has been designed to follow the peak timings of people movement around the venue on event days.

Noise Management
One NZ Stadium's Noise Management Plan is in place to manage the noise impacts from events.
Our Noise Management Plan allows for the below annually:
- 6 Major Events (defined as events reaching 80db)
- 9 Medium Events (75db)
- And unlimited events under 65db
- Regardless of the day of the week, all events must be finished by 11pm, with the exception of New Year’s Eve.
The One New Zealand Stadium Noise Liaison Committee provides a forum for local residents, impacted businesses, Venues Ōtautahi and the Christchurch City Council to oversee the noise management practices of the stadium. The committee features an Independent chairperson (appointed by CCC), Local residents – 2 members, Local business operator – 1 member, Venue Operator – 1 member, CCC – 1 member.

How do I access my residential address if it is within the TMP road closures?
Pedestrian access is available to all addresses at all times.
Vehicle access for residents and essential business vehicles is also permitted within the TMP closures. All road closures are monitored by staff from our allocated traffic management staff. Please talk to the staff if you require access.
What access is provided for emergency services?
Emergency Services are in direct communication with the Venue Operations Centre at all times.
This ensures that emergency services have access to the fastest and safest route at any time.
When are the tiers of TMP implemented?
Estimations on event attendance steer which tier of the TMP is established for each event. As the event gets closer. we monitor the ticket sales to ensure we have the correct and safest TMP implemented. If there is a late surge in unexpected ticket sales, we take a nimble approach to step up the TMP tier as required.
How do I provide feedback as a neighbour?

Why is a TMP (Traffic Management Plan) required?
The TMP is a requirement from the Police and Christchurch City Council. With high volumes of people moving around the stadium at the start and end of an event, the primary purpose of the TMP is to ensure the safety of all pedestrians and vehicles.
When are Neighbours Forums held?
Neighbours Forum Meetings are held multiple times throughout the year. The meetings are held at the Stadium and provide a collaborative platform to discuss updates, opportunities and feedback. Meetings are notified through our Neighbours Emails. You can sign up here.
I am a taxi or ride share operator, where should I park?
There is a dedicated rideshare and taxi dropoff area on Lichfield St to the East of the Stadium.
I am driving a private bus or coach, who do I contact about parking?
If you are driving a private bus or coach to bring guests to an event, email info@venuesotautahi.co.nz to get further information about dropoff and parking options.
I have accessibility requirements, how do I access the venue?
There is an accessible carpark for One New Zealand Stadium on Hereford Street.
You can enter the ballot for an accessible carpark for an event here.
There is a dedicated mobility drop‑off and pick‑up zone located close to the stadium at 250 Hereford Street, Christchurch. There will be ample space and time for you to drop of the guests and find a suitable park near the stadium. Entry to Hereford Street is via Barbados Street.
How do we review the Traffic Management Plan?
The Traffic Management Plan is constantly being reviewed to ensure it is effectively serving its purpose.
This is carried out in a range of forms including being included as discussion item in post event hot-debriefs, formal TMP meetings between VŌ, CCC and Police, and with feedback provided through a variety of sources.
How does the Stadium monitor its Noise Management Plan?
We have a live noise monitoring both inside and outside the venue (with sensors on the edge of the Te Kaha Precinct) which is fed back to match operations room so we optimise the sound and stay within our Noise Management rules.
The One New Zealand Stadium Noise Liaison Committee ensure we are complying with our requirements.
